Sixth Season Episode Guide
After Fran undergoes a sonogram, Dr. Reynolds delivers some exciting news to the proud parents-to-be. Meanwhile, Fran's feelings are hurt when Brighton goes on a tour of Ivy League universities and denies her request to accompany him. Fearing that Brighton thinks she is too stupid to meet his friends, Fran seeks advice on how to "sound intelligent" from Lynn Redgrave (guest starring as herself), who is visiting Maxwell to discuss a new play. Whoa Baby Girl~Baby Boy! Well that's better. The entire show was LOL wonderful. The cast, the writing, the pace.... could not have been better. Max/ Fran with the twins, Niles/Max - what a great reversal of fortune- did we hear the same thing a few years ago? A show I enjoyed from beginning to end. For a change, the entire ensemble ( even with the guest star (why didn't they make a reference to Max and Georgy Girl?) Lynn Redgrave) was utilized expertly it was good ol' tyme Nanny stuff. The tag was a plotzer- very funny, even my daughter enjoyed that! ( Nick At Nite- what a wonder) I think the romance angle of the show has changed. It is no longer newlywed or courting type of romance but the kind a romance shared by a husband and wife who know each other and care very deeply. The kissy-poo stuff isn't necessary anymore, and obviously the sexual tension has resolved itself for Max and Fran . Now it just has to go that route for CC and Niles. All in all, a wonderful week before the drought.
This one was ROTFLOL! From Sylvia fishing around in her bra for a grape (I thought I'd die laughing), to the teasing little ditty CC sang to Niles, to "The Partridge Family" crossover. Bravo!
LOL all the way! Classic Nanny! The BEST part--FINALLY--Niles confessed his true feelings about CC! I know, it could've been played out better, but they have a little time to work on it. Everyone was great tonight! I'm just GLAD something was said about Niles & CC! I literally screamed! YAHOO!!! My only gripe was the tag scene (Partridge family-thing)...in one word, STUPID!!!
I think I liked just about everything on this show. My only complaint was that they weren't able to give Niles/CC more time. I would have ranked it higher if they had. It's a darn shame that they don't have 5 years to pursue the "tell her/I can't" story line. It's particularly funny that it's coming from the guy who tried so hard, for so long, to get Max to tell Fran how he felt! To give them more time, something would have had to be cut - and I can't think of anything to take out! I always thought that Fran Drescher was Lucille Ball, reincarnated and she showed some more of that tonight. Bravo, Fran!
I cried when I found out she was going to have twins - especially that they were having a boy and a girl. The girl should be named Francesca witht the middle name being her husbands name.
This one was terrific! The focus was on being smart instead of sexy -- yahoo! The comedy was top notch and reminiscent of classic Nanny eps. The pace, the script, and the cast were fabulous. Lynn Redgrave and the cheese whiz?? LOL!! And what else can you say about Niles and CC but.... SPINOFF!! Too bad this is the exception rather than the rule these days. 9/10
I loved the parts with Niles and C.C. I really liked the part when C.C. sang "Niles and his girl friend sitting in a tree d-u-s-t-i-n-g."
Y'know what? I thought this was a GREAT ep! Here I was fully intending not to see too much of Niles and C.C. and what happens? We still don't see a whole bunch of them but what happens with them is profound. It's just what was needed in the series. Niles actually confessed his feelings for C.C. to Max, and came *this* close to confessing to her. Still, I loved the whole cow thing and and their insults were as biting as ever. I loved it. Now, let's hope they continue...>:-\
Not the greatest, but not the worst either. Don't know if it's just the anticipation in these long hiatuses between new eps or what...maybe I expect too much. This next break sounds quite long! Anyways, about this week...there were a couple cute moments...the tag, of course was priceless. Niles was at times pathetic but did get in quite a few good zingers! While I liked Lynn Redgrave herself, her role did nothing for me. Was great to see Max and Fran both at the Dr appointments together.... I'm going to miss them!
I liked the show over all, but there wasn't much romance. Where has it gone?
sooooooo cute!!!!!
Good use of everyone even the guest star which is a rarity. The Partridge Family ending was the best part. Of course, my attention was drawn to the N/CC part. Something tells me CC brought Colon LOl there for the very reason of making Niles jealous. Gee, those guys dump her awfully fast don't they? Max should have been a little more helpful in telling Niles to go after her. After all, Niles was his crutch for so long, its time to payback the favor. Maybe that will come in the future. When is someone going to make a move here? Hopefully, before May.
loved this one!!!
I give this one straight 10's. This one had absolutely, positively EVERYTHING--the writing was superb, the pace really kept up, marvelous use of the cast. This is classic Nanny all the way around! Wonderful to see Fran and Max together at her prenatal doctor's visits. Those are beautiful moments. Lynn Redgrave is HILARIOUS...her timing is impeccable, she was TOO funny! Of course, the entire ep for me was overshadowed by the WONDERFUL stuff we're beginning to see concerning Niles and C.C. Oy, I could've cried when Niles' face fell as C.C. and Colin walked out the front door. Poor guy, his heart was breaking. How adorable! And in the kitchen...for a change Niles was admitting (more by what he didn't say than anything) to Max his feelings for a woman instead of the other way around. I think my heart stopped when C.C. entered and Niles rushed up to her and began to babble. I didn't breathe until I busted out laughing at C.C.'s dance around him. LOL Meanwhile, I'm not biased or anything, but didn't C.C. look FABULOUS in that red outfit?! Yowsa! To the cast and crew of TN: you guys are SPECTACULAR!!! We want you to stick around and keep us laughing like last night!!!
This was one of the most enjoyable episodes of this season & I laughed all the way through it. My favourite part was Max & Fran at Dr Reynold's office ("my wife has decided I want to know the sex" & ... "what a huge thumb ?.....I don't think that's his thumb .... that's my boy !". The "cheese etiquette" with Lynn Redgrave, Niles sulking over CC's new boyfriend & the "sexy mom" at Harvard parts were great too. I also have to say that the Partridge Family number was a perfect take off & was hilarious. ( I hate to admit it, but but I loved the Partridge Family when I was a little kid ) No complaints at all - it was Excellent! Thanks to the whole cast, crew & writers.
I thought this ep. was great, just one thing, Fran wasn't even showing yet and she thinks she's going to find out the sex of the baby??? Also "Oh and it looks like he has a little sister, oh well not so little, looks like we got a chubby one" Thats right mamme it's a chubby fetus. LOL
It was fantastic, which is great since who knows when it'll be on again. The CC/Niles thing was hilarious, especially when he said she might like the flowers for a snack. But the topper was the tag scene with the Partridge Family, that had me in stitches. I can't believe their going to have twins and end the show, there's so much comedic potential there. There's one thing I'd like to know before they wrap it up though, what the heck is Niles' last name?
I thought that this episode was amazing! No one would have ever expected tha Fran would have twins. The bad part was that I already knew that this was going to happen because I saw it on a web sight. I wonder what the names of the kids will be. Will Brighton get into the school of his choice? That will probably be on another show. And what about Maggie? Where does she go? It was really weird that Brighton said that Fran was his mother. I never thought of it like that before. It was REALLY strange even though he has probably done that before and I didn't notice. Overall, the show was awesome!!!!!! :) I thought that Fran was hilarious! The accent was the best part of the show! I was rolling with excitement!
The best scenes were Niles and CC. Giving her a boyfriend as snotty as Niles was a hoot. Really hope Niles and CC's relationship will come to a happy conclusion before the show ends. The baby stuff was sweet, but sorry--boring. I enjoyed seeing Max get mad again--forgot how much I liked it! Lynn Redgrave was funny with the cheese, and an enjoyable addition to the plot.
This was absolutely one of the best episodes of nanny this season!!!!
Have to disagree with a previous writer...thought the Partridge Family tag at the end was hilarious. I roared. Especially loved the Niles and CC badinage. Both Daniel and Lauren were wonderful, as always. Niles and CC are a wonderfully twisted couple -- I hope they get a bit more of the limelight before the show's finale. I am going to miss this show.
In a word: Fabulous!! All the way around....
Well......it's back! And with enough POWer to make Batman blush. Too bad they didn't run this toward the beginning of the season. Well written and crafted episode. In fact, it was a total ensemble piece...something that (dare I say it) has been missing. Enough to keep all the regulars happy it reminds me of life before the "thing." I especially enjoyed the play on "Dean," Max speaking to his child and giving Niles advice for a change. The interplay between Fran and Max as a married couple was, IMHO, for the first time truly believeable. Bravo.
Great show. I loved the Partridge Family tag scene. Classic Nanny ep. Im so happy shes having twins.
That was such an awsome episode! Better than any other!!!!
Well the Niles/C.C. were priceless..I really got a kick out of them.
wonderful! probably the best this whole season for me! LOVED the partridge family, but unfortunatly my tape cut off most of it. and niles was so sweet with CC. i like the way this is going. i loved frans hair this ep. i don't know what was going on this whole season, but it was much better! BUT I CANT BELIEVE THOSE *** AT CBS ARE PREEMTING THE NANNY FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS!!!
I love every show but this weeks was really good I loved it.All of the cast did a great job as always.
I thought this episode was great! I could not stop laughing! Fran/Max are so sweet together, and I love it how sensitive Max is and how he comes to all of Fran's Dr. appointments. Lynn Redgrave was awesome, very funny, and not too over used. Niles/CC interaction was some of the best I have seen. "Colon," LOL! Overall, excellent episode, I just wish Fran would start, I don't know, LOOKING pregnant. Other than that, two thumbs ;-) up!
All Right!! Now we're back on track! The writers are off and running with this one(THANKS guys!) Niles and C.C. were great! Exactly what we Daniel/Lauren fans have been waiting for. Now, if you can just keep it going before we run out of "the final season", our prayers will have been answered.Think - "SPIN-OFF".
It was especially funny at the end when Fran had the sonogram and Max thought that the boy's thing was his thumb, and then he said "That's my boy!" and then Dr. Reynolds said that the girl was a little chubette, and Fran said "That's my girl!"
I thought it was ok but certainly not great - I think. I can't remember now, what was the plot? I'll bet I get three different answers 'cause that's about how many things were going on at once which writers often do when their main plots don't have much material, and they think the principle of "guestarous interruptus" will make it better. And I'm tired of seeing Sylvia picking stuff off her body and eating it, but that's just me. I liked the tag scene - it was out of the blue and funny. But overall I didn't really care for this episode, mostly because I'm not a "CC and Niles should get together" fan (fortunately I can just fast forward past those scenes so that I won't gag)
Loved it. Niles jealous of Colon (I mean Colin) was wonderful. And the Partridge Family, I couldn't stop laughing. I had one small problem, I think Brighton and Fran should have talked a little longer. Hearing something like 'But I don't think you're stupid' or 'Your as smart as anyone I know.' would have ended the scene nicely. But I loved. 'I'm smart enough to know I'm being insulted, and sexy enough not to care' followed by the rhythmic walk up the stairs.
I thouught it was one of the best eps of the season. I know that Fran and Max are probably over the mushy stage, but I thought nothing was there. The comedic aspects were TOP NOTCH. I couldn't stop laughing, and frankly I wanted to feel that way even though it hurt. I thought that there were too many plotlines going on. Fran/Max, Fran/Brighton leading to Fran/Lynn Redgrave, Colin/CC, and then Niles/CC. And all of the the plot lines, I thought were not succesfully executed. But I have to say when CC sang, 'Niles and his girlfriend sittin' in a tree, D-U-S-T-I-N-G' HILARIOUS. Lynn Redgrave was great, and really fit in. But I guess the crew of TN realized that there are many issues up in the air, and are trying to compensate for it. Oh, and the Niles admitting his feelings for CC was too sudden. I would like them to get together(although I'll miss the insults!), but let's do it right. Fran was wonderful! The former TN was shining through. I don't want to miss this!! You see, I have any contradicting statements because of so many issues in this ep. THE CAN'T END IT NOW!!
Inspite of the disclosusinterruptis,I really liked this episode. It was intelligent and sweet and at times hysterical. Renee fishing for the grape had me on the floor. I thought the whole cast and guest were seamless. TWINS! go figure. As far as a nannyless month- A Plague on your house CBS. I hope the weather channel gets better ratings.
All I want to say is that is was FANTASTIC!!!
I loved this one through and through! The highlights for me were Syvia fishing for her lost grape and Fran's line "I'm smart enough to know I'm being insulted, and sexy enough not to care." Too funny. Next to the Maggie/Fran/pregnant episode, this has to be my favorite. Great job everyone!
This one is hard to rate. It has already been said (correctly in my opinion), that this ep had several plots and some were executed better than others. I was jsut sooooooo happy that at least one of the kids was involved in a plot. Brighton is my fave kid, so I was espcially happy about that choice. Loved seeing Niles. Two times that stick in my head as winners were when CC and Colon left (I coulda cried) and Niles practicing what he would say to her when she got back ("I have known you since you were a calf.")I felt like a couple times they set us up and then didn't give us the joke, like when Max and Niles were talking, Max asked why Niles doesn't jsut tell her how he feels. There should have been some mention about the irony. I also thought that Max should have been utilized more. Loved the tag, I LMBOPMP. Overall a good ep, very classic Nanny. I wish we could have more like this one.
I LOVED how Niles has a crush on C.C. It is soo cute. I also thought that the fight about Fran at Harvard was kind of funny. I loved the Partridge Family thing at the end (I could die laughing). It was hilarious when C.C. sang and pranced around Niles saying D-U-S-T-I-N-G! All of the episodes are good, but this one was TOP NOTCH COMEDY. 8/10
I am thrilled that the relationship between Niles and CC is starting to develop. He's finally showing his true feelings for her. Very good!
I LOVED this show!! I was completely entertained - everyone was true to character, Max still being a little concerned about Fran's behaviour in front of someone famous - Fran treating Lynn Redgrave like her best friend - Brighton sticking up for his "Mom". Lynn Redgrave "Whiz me" - very funny. Niles and CC d-u-s-t-i-n-g had me laughing when I thought the laughs were over for the night - finally, The Partridge family thing was over the top, I still laugh whenever I think about it.
WELL NOW!! We've had two great episodes in a row! (Although NOT back to back, thanks to CBS). They are answering a lot of questions fast- probably because time is short- and I think they're doing a neater job of it than last year with the Iloveyou/engagement/wedding stuff. Niles & Max in the kitchen was such a reverse (sound familiar, Max?). I agree Sylvia w/the grape was gross but funny, but I don't think Lynn Redgrave added that much. Also agree w/an earlier post about Fran's line about smart/insult too sexy/care was a riot! Max was sweet telling Fran one minute no one would ever be ashamed of her, but making her stay out of his office right after that was classic! And I loved the tag scene-perfect! I've noticed from the first of the season, several things we put on our summer wish list being put in the show- Sylvia/Val doing rescue of F/M (was actually CC but still..), more use of kids, fewer guest stars, Niles & CC getting together (I'm sure it's coming!), and last but not least, TWINS! Is it just me, or has someone besides us has been vising the website?!?
Twins! What a great surprise, although the previews pretty much gave it away. OK,
I am loving several things about this ep and this season. Brighton getting a life and going to
Harvard, Niles actually starting to admit he likes CC, real maternity issues, Fran still trying
to fit into park avenue society, CC dating a Niles lookalike (it was funny when Maxwell did it
and it is funny with CC), the maternity doctor, celebrity guests were used well, getting Niles
way out of his character (last week) and I especially loved the Partridge family bit.
ROTFL!!!!
Now, what I don't like is having to now rush through situations. Niles suddenly ready to tell
CC his feelings seems too soon. He has waited this long, why now? Maxwell is just too docile.
He is funniest when he gets irate, dishelved, flustered and he never seems to get that way
anymore about anything. We know he loves Fran, but they need some friction back to be at their
comedic best. The sex questions to the maternity doctor seemed silly for a man that already
had 3 kids and especially since Fran is not even showing yet. And the old Maxwell would never
have figured out that Niles liked CC..Fran would have known that, not Maxwell. These are just
opportunities to make the best show even better!
Overall this was another good story, balanced mix of characters and celebrities and some really
funny moments! I am going to really miss all of this...Don't go Fran!!
Come on, Niles! Just do it!
what happened to all the romance between Fran and Max? They've only been married for a little while. There was more romance in the 5th season before they were married!
Would like to see the characters of Fran and Max act more like newly weds.
Fantastic! Wouldn't it be wonderful if they named the baby girl Sara, by the way? Anyhow, I just wanted to express my appreciation to the cast and crew. The eps are getting better and better---sure to go out with a bang! Very very clever and funny. A bit gushy and unrealistic with the pregnancy, but it's wonderful how much they all function as a family. I'm still watching, CBS!!
the romance was good from discovering that they were gonna have twins but i wish that max fainted from happiness or something like that
This show reminded me of what I would miss so much should TN be cancelled!! Great 9/10. Niles and C.C. were great. The fancy pants looked pretty fine. But DD looks pretty fine in anything. :) All around great show.
This was a great ep, but defintately could have improved in all aspects. What
happened to the Max? Why was he the one to fond out about Niles' feelings first? I know
someone has address this, but it has to be reinforced. Max is the foggiest when it comes to
love; Fran should have been the first one to know. But, she was involved in everything, and
you hardly saw anything of Max, so I took it. Where is the 'one big family' angle in the show?
It's like it dissapeared into thin air, along with Fran and Max's romantic moments. Now where
did that go? I got an idea, let's see Grace interrupting them in the middle of 'something'.
If there going to start running things together, at least make it logical.
I think that the comedic punch that was missing is shining through once again. Or, it could be
the fact that I missed last week(Fran In The Mirror) and was desperate for a laugh...who knows.
I loved CC's twist on k-i-s-s-i-n-g! That was hilarioius. I wasn't alive when The Partridge
Family was first on, so the tag scene at the end was passed over by me. I hate that they are
running all of the unresolved plotlines together!! It just doesn't feel right.
OY, the next month and then some is going to be hel-! I just hope that CBS is using this
HUMONGOUS pre-empt to read all of our letters, and come to their senses!!! Someone metioned
something about enjoying the thought of an exec and getting paper cuts from our letters on the
message board, hehe, I hope so!! Gee, I am turning in to the TN crew with all of these
thoughts running in to each other!! Let's hope that them 'resolving' the many issues on the
show will give us a wonderful send off(if they still go through with it.)
I have a question: If the series finale is going to be where she is having the twins, that wouldn't make here 9 months pregnant. By the time the next new episode comes on, she will probably gain a lot and will really be showing that she is pregnant. [webmaster's note: Ummmm, don't count on it.]
I thought this episode was one of the more classic Nanny's. Max's rhyme, "hello fetus, when you are ready come out and meet us", was cute. Val's line about the cleaning lady was cute. Sylvia's grape scene was hysterical. Is it just me ,or has Fran's wardrobe taken a subtle turn? What has happened to the loud maternity clothes we should be seeing? I bet Fran will be huge in the next episode, and Niles 's and CC 's will have simmered. I think the show is not taking advantage of the comedy of Fran's pregnancy. Overall, I give it an eight.
I really wish the show would go back to like what it was. Like more comedy, and some romance. The older shows were so much funnier.
this was a good show. but what happened to the romance, I know that Max loves her but he hasn't really showed it to much. Althoug the scene at the doctors office was adorable. overall a good show.

Our responses (13) gave the episode a 9.0 overall, a 8.5 for the comedy, and a 8.5 for romance.
Some comments received were:
Loved that ep!!! Specially the part where Max says his wife has decided that they wanna know... and the part where C.C. insults Fran by saying she's stupid(like that's something new!) and Fran says she's sexy enogh not to care. LOL!
GREAT EP!! JUST LIKE THE OLD ONES! EVERYONE LOOKED JUST SOO BEAUTIFUL! LOVE IT! 2 THUMBS UP!;)
Generally a good show, a bit flat in some bits but others were great which sort of evened it out. 9/10
I LOVED IT
what a lovely episode! I felt as though we had the Nanny we love back. It was warm and funny, all the cast were utilised. Fran looked gorgeous and more comfortable than she has in recent eps. This ep proved that it is possible to have enough material to keep this great series going as long as there is the desire to do so.
LOVED IT! I CAN'T BELIVE FRAN AND MEXWELL IS HAVING TWINS!!!
They keep them coming - 'this keeps getting better and better!' Another great job. Hasn't Brighton grown up into a handsome young man! This episode had classic lines, too - I especially liked the line about Fran's sad face when B asked her if she was going to cry. 'what else can I use it for?' (or something like that!) and the 'that's not his finger!' How can they end this show. Why are we not still asking for more? Didn't the return of the lost episodes show us all the power of the pen (and that was just a plot to take us away from our original campaign of a 7th series!)
I love the nanny!! It is the best show in the world!!!
great episode!!!
Great episode! I really loved it when Fran said she was smart enough to know she had been insulted but sexy enough not to care. The scene where they find out that they going to have twins was lovely.
Forcing Fran to tell her mother the 'good news'. | Everyone is thrilled with the prospect of moving to California when Maxwell gets a Hollywood movie deal, except for Fran and Sylvia, who can't bear the thought of living apart. But Sylvia refuses to budge, leading a puzzled Fran to a discovery about her mother's secret life. Written by: Suzanne Gangursky. Story by: Suzanne Gangursky and Mary Lindes. Our responses (92) gave the episode a 6.3 overall, a 6.5 for the comedy, and a 3.9 for romance.

I really enjoyed this episode. Seeing Maxwell's anger again at Fran brought back memories of the older shows. Loved the trailer, it reminded me of when I was little and watched the Beverly Hillbillies. I still wish they would bring back more romance for Max and Fran. I really miss that interplay between them. Overall, it was pretty good. I am glad CBS didn't skip this one because of last week's messup.
Niles with intercom and C.C sticking here head in the stove was the funniest things on this ep! Something was just different about this one!
This one was a lot of fun. And SUCH an improvement over its lead-in, Payne! CBS ought to drop that piece of junk like a hot potato and renew the Nanny! I am hoping we'll get a double-whammy somewhere so we get to see all the eps.
Umm...well, it was okay, I guess. I noticed Renee lost a lot of weight(but she's always looked good regardless). It really took away from it when they kept mentioning it. So when is Fran going to start showing?...she only has a little over a month to have these kids, and knowing CBS they'll probably pre-empt TN for something else stupid (Tara Lapinski special...ew.), which gives her six weeks to get 9 mos. pregnent (but then again Maggie aged 3 years in four months, I guess it oculd happen, Nanny time. But anyway...it was okay, the writing could have been better, Niles a shining star as always, the C.C. "why can't I have sex?" line was hilarious until she stuck her head in the oven...unecessary. I hate to say that I'm glad that this is the last season...as much as I love the show, it's becoming less of a sitcom and more of a drama/soap opera (Sylvia...an affair? yuk.)
This episode was, not as good as I expected, I couldn't beleive that Sylvia is having an affair, and the Beverly Hillbillies thing was cute, but they really don't talk much about the baby, and Fran and Max have bearly any passion, they haven't even been married a year yet, where's the romance??!!!???!!! And when is Fran gonna get a big tummy? Can't wait to see that!!!
Awfully blah. I thought the Donna Douglas bit was weird. They coulda and shoulda done more with Niles and CC. I know it's coming - but it seems to be an awful lot to pack into a very short amount of time. (DD did look awfully good though - didn't you think?)
WONDERFUL!! Oy, what a great way to bring back the show! I thought it had lots of funny moments, maybe a few dragging spots, but overall I was pretty much LOL. I think I am just SO HAPPY to have my show back that I would've been ecstatic to see ANYTHING!!
The show really got interesting once Fran and Silvia were in the kitchen and Fran began to figure things out. Having the family trying to get out of the way was clever--and CC with her head in the oven was LOL. Also Niles and the intercom was delicious! The Donna Douglas/Ellie May thing was just kind of weird. Max is now the "nice" husband, too bad no more romance.
Soooo disappointing. After two months they could have done a little better than this. I like Sylvia enough, but I'd rather see the final episodes be about the SHEFFIELDS, NILES/CC, and where the heck is Yetta!!!!!! And ya know next week will be all Sylvia too! Oh well 'the producers looks good. BTW, Ellie Mae did not age well.
Very Funny love the scene between Sylvia and Fran, and Sylvia's Face...Fran looked Beautiful, and C.C and Niles were incredible as usual, a great episode, WELCOME BACK!!!, Looling forward for next week.
I liked it. It was great when you found out about Sylvia. I couldn't stop laughing about the looks everyone gave her when they found out. Also, Niles wimpering scene at the beginning and Maxwell running away when it came time for both he and Fran to tell Sylvia that they are moving. I liked this episode. It could have been better but since I haven't seen a new episode since Feb. I felt I couldn't be real picky. It was good.
it was a nice episode. didn't hate it, didn't like it.
Finally! If only it was better. Pretty standard ep and that from someone who was dying for anything new. Sylvia was too restrained. I just can't figure her for cheating, or even thinking about it. The kids were glossed over. The gangs movement to get away from a fighting Sylvia and Fran was good. I'm just waiting for the big bang, so to speak, when Niles and CC get together. Let's get it on!
There were some funny parts ( Niles & the intercom, Max hiding to avoid telling Sylvia) but overall this Ep. was a bit dull. What happened to the spark between Max & Fran ? I also agree with an earlier post - the pregnancy plotline is really lacking attention in this ep. - the next few weeks will have to move at the speed of sound ! ( & Ellie May was just weird ! ) I dunno, is it me or are the usually bright & keen actors kind of plodding through their roles these days ? Oh well - enough "kvetching" - I'm glad the show is still around for a few more weeks - it just needs to get some of it's " bite & spirit " back.
I was really unimpressed with this episode. I had such high hopes but it didn't deliver. The Donna Douglas part was to long and a waste of air time. The rest seemed rushed and disjointed. This whole last season just seems so flat.
Okay maybe I'm in the minority but I loved it! I was falling off the couch with laughter as was the rest of my family!) Maybe it's because WE'RE moving to Atlanta and we're going through the same stuff- being Jewish and all. Max wasn't made out to be an idiot, a major change for this season, Niles was very funny, Fran wasn't "hard", and the kids were great. Donna Douglas looked sad. It was a funny idea to use her but she came off as pathetic. My only major question is , WHEN THE HECK IS FRAN GONNA GIVE UP THE SHORT STUFF AND FINALLY LOOK PREGNANT???? After all she is carrying twins....boy, is she ever gonna "pop" at once! Other than that,I thought it was a wonderful ep after a very long dry spell. I guess now we'll finally get that Double Whammy we've been wanting!
I liked the ending, when they came out like the Hill Billy's - it was cooool!
Ok i was a little disapointed.....it was pretty funny with finding out about the "affiar" when they all shuffled into the other room....but the romance wasn't really there...they should have more scenes of max and fran together...i would like to see that...
I miss Fran/Max as a married couple. I mean, they didn't have any good moments in this one- and I think that's pretty sad. Niles was one of the only funny aspects of this episode. The Chatterbox lady was another. I just really wish they would bring back the great romance between Fran/Max. Like someone said, they haven't even been married for a year yet. Elie May was kind of annoying too, Fran was the one that carried the scene and made it kinda funny. The tag was cute- good spoof! All in all, an okay episode, I hope the others pick up from this one.
Hmmm...not bad, I suppose. It was funny at times, but it really dragged in others. My major gripe was the lack of Niles/CC ANYTHING. You'd think that there'd at least be a little, especially after Niles' little "revelation". Oh, well. (BTW, Renee looks SO nice! I hadn't realized how much weight she lost until I saw her tonight. How great!)
I've thought long and hard over what to say about this..especially as we know that we are drifting to a close. This episode had a few shining moments..the intercom, the Jewish "minks", the "Barney" references and Hollywood maverick sitcom ideas (gee wonder where they got that!). However, in trying to beat Hollywood at its own ratings game, it seems to me that they are trying to "throw out" everything and see what sticks...ie: why the heavy dramady this year? An affair for Sylvia..just because of weight loss? It ruins the whole scenario of the family image and "happy" feeling IMO. That said, I think the CA idea is brilliant..Kudos. It could open up that old "different" culture scenario that made the show work so well. With some promotion, a decent time slot, and the knowledge that they would be renewed, I think we would return to that "Old Magic" in no time. I know you can't please everyone, and, somehow, that is what the writers keep trying to do. Stick to the wacky, down to earth gal who we all fell in love with and forget the ratings and.....if you build it..they will come! All over 7.2.
I have watched this ep twice now, buit have been distracted both times, but I have seen enough to comment on it I believe. First let me say that I have really missed the show and was glad to have it back. It did have its moments, and they used Max more than usual wich is always a plus. Has Niles always been as bitter as he has been this season? The Niles/CC banter is missing something or worse seems non-existent. This seemed to be another cut-and -paste episode. As a first ep back and I think that really hurt the ep. However, there were some really fun moments such as walking around the Sylvia/Fran argument (though I really dreaded and still dread Sylvia's affair), Niles and the intercom that picks up sign language, and Max even got in some good lines. I am looking forward to the future, what short one there is.
I would like to see a little more romance between Fran and Maxwell befor the season and show are over
Well, I've read alot of the comments and I have to agree it wasn't one of their best shows. Also, like others have commented, when is Fran going to show?!
I thought it was a great episode great humor and i loved seeing max angry at fran. it reminds me of the older episodes
i think "nanny"is a very good program,it`s funny to. "nanny"is the best program on the TV.
This episode wasn't as good as I'd expected, but I'm glad it was on! My Favourite line: Fran: Val, is Ma here? Val: Why would she be HERE? Oy! Even I knew that was a stupid question!
I was dissapointed with this episode. I mean, after two months of not being in the air THIS was the best they could do? There were some funny lines but all in all nothing happened. Even if they can't bring in more romance between Fran and Max they should at least concentrate on Niles and C.C. They only have seven episodes left to get Niles and C.C. together and instead of concentrating on them they make Sylvia have and affair?
Sylvia seemd glazed and tuned out a lot in this episode. Was it supposed to be part of the act or did she lose a lot of her appeal since losing weight? But no matter , it was still a great show. Niles better start getting serious about CC. I missed the show so much last night was such a relief! I wish the kids had more dialogue.
Well, where do I begin? I have so much to say. First of all I really missed the show over the long break, and was really glad to have it back. It wasn't that great, but it was okay. I think they could have made it funnier. Sylvia looks great, but I didn't think they had to put the affair part in there. Also, I definately agree with the others about Fran's pregnancy. She needs to start showing if she's going to have twins in less than a month's time!! Another thing . . . I really miss the romance between Fran and Max. Plus, I also wish there was more between Niles and CC. Overall, I'd give it a six. Both the romance and especially the comedy could have been better. I think the only reason I don't think so lowly of this show is because they hadn't showed it in such a long time, that many people would be happy with just about anything.
It was okay. Not that great. Had some pretty funny moments (eg. Niles and the full body shudder). Hope next weeks is better. . .If there is a next week.
I was a bit let down by this ep. there were a lot of funny parts, agreed ("You mean she's having sex and i'm not?" "This baby picks up sign language" and more) but after 2 months i expected more. The movie thing seemed sorta conveniently thrown in, the tag could have been better. Poor Brighton going back to the inflatable doll jokes--been there, done that. And they didnt say WHY Maggie wanted to stay home. Plus, Sylvia seemed to be just standing/sitting there most of the time. I must admit, i was desperate to see anything, but at least i kinda know upcoming eps will be better.
As heartbreaking as it is to see my favorite show go down the drain, I have to say they are tottaly running out of ideas. I thought Fran and Max were newly weds? they act like they have been married for 50 years and the romance has tottaly died down, and anyone who is pregnant with twins doesnt look like they are wearing a size 2. I love the show but the re runs are much funnier.
even though it still doesn't compare to past seasons, i have adjusted to that, and sadly, sort of lowered my standards. i noticed that renee looked great, i had heard about her weight loss, but i hadn't seen her till now. the difference is very noticable. but is it just me, or did the acting seem a little less? it seemed like their timing wasn't as in sinc as it usually is. this was a cute episode though, i think i was just so exited to see it back on again they all could have sat there eating donuts the whole time and i would have been happy! i can't wait till next week, i can't believe we will have a whole month of nanny with no inturruptions (unless cbs screws up again)! also, why in the world isn't fran showing? there is not time for this, we need to move along in the pregnancy. but they have already finished taping so they must have worked something out. :) and where is yetta??? i am missing her, she makes any episode hylarious. i am assuming they have totally dropped sammy, which upsets me, but what can i do?
I think that most of the episode was great...but Fran and Max were waiting to finally be married forever and now it seems like there is no magic between them anymore. I'm not saying that we want a big bedroom scene every week, but a kiss or two would be nice. Well, I know that all the episodes are already taped, so saying that is going to make absolutely no difference, but its how I feel.
What happened here? Things weren't on track. You think Niles would have offered to turn the stove on for C.C. There were a couple of good bits though. Like when Niles decided to play his character. C.C. and Max were the best in my opinion.
Well, what a disappointment-sorry TPTB! #1, Max decides the family is moving to
California?! Fran may have loved the idea when it was announced as set in stone, but how about
she have an equal say in the decision--they are MARRIED now!
#2) Sylvia had no animation--what happened? She looks better than ever, but with the pounds
went the writing, IMHO.
#3) Niles and CC progress, please --enough with CC drooling over Max,
it's not even funny, it just comes across as bitter!
#4) Give the "kids" more lines and Fran evidence of the twins! Act like a family--the scenes at
the end were the best, classic Nanny material. Fran and Max are not a "team" which is the most
romantic thing I could want (romance not sex, btw)
#5) I'm still watching, so let's keep showing eps!
Well, I wasn't totally thrilled with the storyline, and the romance between Fran & Max seems to be permanently on the back burner, but there were still some great LOL lines, and while it may not have been the best Nanny episode ever, ANY Nanny is better than no Nanny at all! Welcome back, guys!!!!!!! :-)
Well...this one was a disappointment after the long drought. I didn't think they dealt with the kids' reactions to moving very well if at all...with Maggie leaving Michael, and B about to go to college. I can see why they had to show this ep and the next one in order, though, as they spent as much if not more time on the "where's sylvia and what's going on with her" storyline than with the move. I also thought Ellie Mae / Donna Douglas(?) was just another gratuitous guest shot...it really added no value.
I watched the episode again because I thought maybe I missed something the first two times. But no I was right. Dullsville, I chuckled a few times but never really laughed. What does it matter, what will be will be. The whole season is in the* CAN* it ain't as if they're going to rewrite scenes reassemble the cast and reshoot. I am looking foward to next week. Frankly it doesn't matter how good or bad the remaining episodes are I loyally watch til the end.
The first time I watched this episode, I didn't like it. However, I just watched it again and I realized it was pretty good--I guess I was just expecting too much after such a long hiatus. DD was awesome, especially that shiver after picturing C.C. in shorts! I think there could have been more done with CC/Niles and/or Fran/Max but that's really my only complaint. Well that and it seemed too much like a transition episode--nothing was resolved. What about the Maggie comment about not going to CA?
It wasn't the best epesoide, but it wasn't bad. It was really funny with Niles and the intercom.
the nanny to me one of the funniest shows on t.v. and I will truly miss it. I just feel that thier last few remaining shows should be the best they've done in honor of the fans that have made the show the sucess it is.
loved the cell phone thing!!
When are Fran and Max going to get romantic? We've been waiting so long for them to get together and now that they have, nothing is going on!!!!!
That was the lamest episode I have ever seen. Wish they would have skipped it after all!!
Hi, this episode was alright. The best part was when CC said, "she's having sex and I'm not!!!" and stuck her head in the oven. One thing that I would have suggested to put the cast in Hillbilly clothes at the end to make it great, instead of just coming out in their own clothes.
I gotta chime in here again to address a few unwarranted criticisms, IMO.
1) Renee's "underacting" was no such thing. Sylvia was obviously distracted with the affair
and infatuated.
2) Elly May might have been a bit pathetic, but the Beverly Hillbillies thing
mirrors the situation to a T, at least for the Fines.
3) There was no room in this ep. for romance and/or kissy face moments; and it doesn't need
them, IMO. This is not a soap.
4) Fran isn't showing. Big deal! The upcoming eps. will just fast forward in time. This is
not real life, after all.
Each episode cannot deliver in every category in 22 minutes. You can complain about poor
writing or acting but plot events cannot possibly please everyone. I agree this wasn't the
best ep. ever but it certainly was a lot of fun.
The show has wrapped for the season, so complaining at this point will do no good. We need to
show support so we'll have something to complain about in the future! So stop kvetching and go
write some letters!
they should put more romance. It would be a good way to end the show.Very disappointed this will be the last season.I wish it will still continue.
What happened?! If all the episodes this season had been this lame, I wouldn't blame CBS for taking it off! (thank goodness they've been much BETTER than this, and CBS simply doesn't realize the mistake they're making)! The only good line in the first half was Niles crack about the sign language on the intercom. Thank goodness the shuffling in & out of the kitchen and the tag scene saved it! And as pointed out by some of the other posts, when is Fran going to show? I thought after the long break this would be the ideal time to start that. I'm also among the Fran/Max romance-seekers. They had more romance in a lot of the episodes before they were ever even THINKING about being married. (i.e. Camp Kindervelt, Shop-a-holic, Affair to Disremember). Lastly, Donna Douglass truly did not add anything, although I don't think she aged badly at all. The plot overall was sort of disjointed and I was pretty disappointed. Let's hope the last 7 are the LUCKY 7!
No complaints. Just thankful for no "we interupt this program to bring you this special report....." DD RULED this episode: (1) The full body shudder at the thought of C.C. in shorts, (2) The Tone Tech 2000, (3) trapeze lessons for the skylight, (4) and his reaction to Sylvia's affair. ROTFL!!!!! Bring on "The Producers." Can't wait.
I think it was funny and worth the extra week's wait. I hope they don't make that a tradition tho!!!
I am one of those fans who is never disapointed. Except this week ! Thinking that my withdrawl symptoms would be cured I was sadly wrong. There were enjoyable moments. Mainly having to do with Fran, Maxwell and Sylvia. But the mansion bit did nothing for me at all.
Well, finally a long awaited new episode after we are forced to accept the fact that
Fran and CBS are ending the Best Show on TV!!
Our expectations were very high and delivery was a bit limited. This was supposed to set up a
possible move to CA for next season, something I had mixed feelings about. New York is where
Fran and Max should stay!!
What I loved was CC with the oven (she looks great!) and Niles with the intercom. They seem to
be up to something, but we can't tell what. No definite conclusion to Niles pining away for CC
from the last episode. Brighton getting a girlfriend (finally) and let's see her! Good
involvement with all the family. Good use of guest stars and humor with them. Fran and Max are
really settling in as a couple; Max actually seemed excited about moving! He is better able to
accept change now. LOVED the Beverly Hillbilly ending!
However.....
The performance of everyone seemed less energetic somehow. Fran is delivering in two months
and is not even showing yet. Sylvia seemed way to stiff, even tho we found out about the affair
(I still can't believe it) she was just not funny doing this. Max's hair is just too bizarre.
This needed some romance, either with Max/Fran or Niles/CC...
Overall, not a favorite, but just happy to get anything at all!! and Please CBS, do The Nanny
justice for a change...
So, that was what we waited two months for? It was better than nothing and I loved the super duper intercom thing that picks up sign language. That was funny. Maybe this weeks will be better? OK, not great, not horrible. But where's the love? Fran and Max as well as Niles and C.C. More, please!
I was so bored with it, I didn't even rewind the tape and watch it again. It was unbelievably out of context. It didn't do anything for me, being the Fran/Max fan that I am. WHERE'S THE PASSION???? I can't believe it. Ok, she's pregnant, and is supposed to have mood swings, so where was her getting over emotional and giving Max the what for??? The Hillbillies thing was oh so (...nod off just thinking about it) oh, boring. Why are they doing this?? Just because it's 'going off the air' does not mean that they can knock off the quality. I even missed Niles and C.C. with their unrequited love. AND YETTA, and EVERYONE ELSE!!! Sure they were there, but what were they doing?? The trailer thing, I had to mute the TV and shield my eyes from the what they were doing. I've never been much of a Hillbillies fan, so it was something to skip for me. I prefer Get Smart, and I Love Lucy much more. I hope next week will be better...let's just hope. I'm still a little edgy about this whole affair thing. How could she do this while her daughter is having a baby??? Ugggg.
I have already put in my two cents, but i want to say a couple more things since I actually watched the entire ep without distraction finally. First of all, I think that in her one scene Val stole the show. I loved her this week. Best line from her came when asking why Sylvia would be at the donut store and then she said, "Oy, even I knew the answer to that." Also loved her discovering that the bathroom was limited to costomers only. Hal LInden's role was also funny. Loved the line, "I don't know what you're talking about, but here's what you should do." Also liked the line from CC about a show involving funny cops whose squad room is also the holding pen. It took me a long time to realize what she was talking about, but once I did, it wasn't a lame joke. On the negative side, I was not impressed with Donna Davis. I heard that this ep was recorded after teh end of the show was announced, so hopefully the actors will have a little more life in the coming weeks. It also seemed like they used Max a little more than usual, which is always a good thing.
Finally, it's great to see a new episode of TN. It seems like it's been forever. But I felt a bit disappointed with this one.The Chatterbox thing and Elie May was a waste a valuable air time, of which we don't have much left. Hello? The time could've been better spent on more Niles & C.C. Both were great in this ep, Niles and his intercom, and C.C. with her head in the oven.Bravo! Now, let's have more of the same. Geeze, I'm really going to miss those guys.

Our responses (13) gave the episode a 7.3 overall, a 7.3 for the comedy, and a 7.0 for romance.
Some comments received were:
That was a good ep, although there have been better ones. I mean, they seemed all sorta outta place, ya know, probably cause they were upset. But always a good show, keeping a great job. COngrats to all the cast one more time for their magical performance!!! LOL!!!!
I must say this was on of the greatest shows - expect 'The Wedding' and 'Lampchop'
I just couldn't like this one! (and it's the first one ever - I even liked a lot of Fran's Roots!) Except for Niles and the intercom and the family moving in and out of the kitchen while Fran and Sylvia were talking, I didn't really find it funny. I guess it was developing the storyline for the move to California but it just did nothing for me. (And where did the dining room go - look through the door and find a wall???)
I don`t live in Australia but I have seen this ep and I gotta say it wasn`t a good one. Lauren "C.C." Lane saved it in the end. "She`s having sex and I`m not?" LOL
Well, Could have been worse, but could also have been a lot better. To little Niles/CC after my taste ;o)
