Go back to Part Three of the
Fourth Season Episode Guide

Fran thinks she finally has Maxwell in her clutches, only to discover that she may be very wrong. Maxwell and Fran come back from Niles' sick bed (and their near-tryst) with Fran sure that this time she's finally snagged Maxwell. Maxwell, however, has other ideas and tempts her with the ultimate distraction -- permission to redecorate the kitchen. Fran calls her interior decorator cousin, Sheila (guest star Roseanne), to do the job, but Sheila, whose taste runs more to the tasteless and is fresh from a blistering breakup, sends Fran into a relationship tailspin. Written by: Caryn Lucas. Sheila: Roseanne, Mitch: Ben Thomas, Moving Man: Lyle Kanouse.
Our responses (40) gave the episode a 8.0 overall, a 7.5 for the comedy, and a 8.2 for romance. Some comments received were:
Oh, I am sooo glad the Nanny is back!!! Roseanne was
just wonderful. Love the new kitchen. Yetta was just
as funny as always. And Niles and C.C. what can I
say.......
Can't Wait to see next weeks show!!!!
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!! I wish there would have been more romance in this episode though. I have been waiting FOREVER for these two to get together! (The scene towards the end with Niles and CC was so funny! I thought it was great.)
It had some great moments. Niles and C.C.'s Velcro line was the best of the evening. I liked where Fran and Max ended up, and I'm looking forward to a date next week. BUT, for me the cartoon level was turned up a notch too high for me to really enjoy it. The romantic parts were so overblown I thought they were going to turn out to be dream sequences. Oh well, I guess that's the way it's going to be from now on, so I'd better accept it and move on.
I thought that the casting of Roseanne as Fran's cousin was brilliant. The mixture of these two vibrant ladies was a classic in the making. I would love to see Roseanne and Fran do a movie together.
The best show ever seen.
Great Start
The cartoon level was a little higher than I like, but, most importantly, he didn't take it back! And that last scene! Whew! Loved the line "Maybe I should do you in the dining room." LOL!
An interesting idea..seeing "proper" Maxwell as a lovesick teenager type. That could be very funny.
I loved this ep. - completely. IMHO, this is how a comedy can be LOL funny and still work in romantic aspects without getting soapy. It had great writing, directing, and acting all across the board, and the PACE! Oy, Dorothy must've had her Wheaties - fantastic. And, Roseanne was a terrific guest star. I was SO glad to see the CC/Niles relationship done as bizarre/kinky! And they were a complete hoot. I feel Fran is back to her brilliant comedic self and the season is off to a great start! Please let it continue! Best lines: "What? I'm not so nice and I like gossip." "This sucks." "Whadda you have, decorator's Tourette's?" Best melting lines from the guys: "Miss Very-Fine" and "Toriello... lookin' GOOD."
Plot was rough. KILL SILVA!!!!!!!
A great start to the '97 season. The Niles/C.C. scene was the best in the show. I was kinda disappointed that the two of them weren't in more of the show. Other than that, it was a great episode.
I think that this was a weak season opener for "The Nanny" and was really dissappointed in the story. I actually got bored, which is a first for me. The only thing that saved the show was the last scene- Fran and Max together at last! I also liked the Niles and CC scene-hilarious!
After 4 months without any new shows I would have settled for the actors just standing in a room at this point. This was a pretty good episode. I'm sick of Roseanne but she fit in so well with the Fine family. And my God! that kitchen!!! I'm not sure I like the finished product, but it will grow on me. Sylvia was hilarious as usual. Walking out with drapes at the end was a show stopper (literally). And Niles looked wonderful! Can't wait for Elton John.
Great Premiere!
I liked this one much more than last year's, and at least Maxwell is making some progress!!
Niles and C.C. in the kitchen were hilarious!! Roseanne was suprisingly funny and fit in perfectly with the Fine family. I wonder if the writers have been tapping into Barb's website FanFiction...it seems to me that I've read the conversation in the beginning with Max and Niles, or maybe it's just that the fans know the characters as well as the writers. LOVED "This sucks!" and "Oh, I am SO getting dumped!", Max's/Charles' reaction to Grace's "Daddy!", and most especially the end scene; is this the first time they've kissed when they haven't been about to die or for some other reason other than true feelings for each other? I've only been watching for a short time, so, correct me if I'm wrong.
Does anyone else think Charlie was too cute in this ep? Maybe it's just been a long summer. You have to go way back to remember Roseanne being funny. No one mentioned Yetta, either. With just her few lines , she's a riot!
Loved the end, but too many interuptions.
Max: I want to do you in the dining room~~~Classic!
Niles: Pick you up at 8 and wear... CC: Velcro!~~~The wait is finally over!! (for both)
I was really disappointed with this episode. The stuff with Max and Fran at the end seemed like a dream sequence or something. It just didn't feel right. Also, where was poor CC for most of the episode? Niles and CC are the reason that I watch the show. Only one scene with them was a major disppointment.
What does everyone assume second base was? [webmaster's note: I think it safe to assume the, ahem, upper body region was explored.]
I noticed that Charles S. has put on a little weight, but he's still looking good! I think Fran and Maxwell are becoming comfortable with each other and you can tell. It's a nice addition to the romance. All in all, a good show!
How did I know they were going to do the kitchen that colour... Did you notice that now the plates and mugs match the kitchen....
It was a great season opener.....I can't wait for the next show......
I think they did a great job. It was one of the best episodes in a long time!! Congratulations!! Great job!
The jokes were really funny, but Roseanne's voice was so much more annoying than Fran's it became hard to concentrate. Although I love the scene where Niles and C.C. get totally turned on by the kitchen.
This ep was ok. I don't particularly like Roseann. The funniest scene was Niles and C.C. in the kitchen. Is it just me or does Charles look realllly good this season. Please don't cut your hair. I love him casual.

Our responses (15) gave the episode a 7.2 overall, a 6.6 for the comedy, and a 7.0 for romance. Some comments received were:
Well, it is so good to see the Nanny back on Aussie tv again, that I'll ignore the fact that they've already done the parallel life thing; through Mona and Fran in an older episode and now with Sheila and Fran. But it was still a great episode with all the old Nanny elements! I especially loved the way Niles milked his heart attack for everything it was worth and the aprodisiac/velcro scene was just hilarious! Loved the kiss between Max and Fran, if only because they didn't have to make up some excuse for its happening! I hope the episodes continue on this trend!
Well I don't know. After having spent the past 4 or 5 months watching seasons one and two, this just wasn't as satisfying. Most of my friends gave up watching TN long ago, and this will not entice them back. This is the type of episode that will appeal only to the die-hard fans, in particular the Fran-Max fans. I didn't particularly like Roseanne trying on that accent. She speaks strangely enough as it is, she didn't need to try that. I just wish my father would put a sock in it while the episode airs!!
It wasn't a bad show... but after waiting so long for the new episodes.....we wanted more! The scene with Niles and CC in the kitchen was great! (Go Niles!) Glad the show is back. My Sunday nights are now booked for the rest of the season!
Great start to the new season! Charlie is looking better than ever. Loved CC's comment about wearing velcro and Max's "I should do you in the dining room" comment.
This was a pretty good beginning to the season, and I thought Fran and Roseanne were very funny together. I also thought that Fran's mother was very funny in this episode, particularly in the last scene. The hair wasn't THAT outrageous (this is a very important factor in my books!!!) except I think I could just BURN that wig in the first scene.
I thought this ep was great (I'd been waiting *sooo* long to see it!!) After watching nothing but re-runs for the past few months, it was good to see the Fran and Max situation take a different direction. Finally! Thought Roseanne did a good job too, better than some of the other guest stars that they've had. Loved Niles: "Well, usually I wake up!" All up, a good premiere... but why couldn't Sylvia have left out of the *front* door with those drapes??? ;)
It was a fabulous episode. Lets hope this season stays as good!
Overall I was a little disappointed with the episode. After waiting ages to see what would happen next - well, it fizzled a little. The best part was the last five minutes. Was that a freudian slip? And the kiss! Wow!!! Let's see more of that. It really is time to move the relationship along. None of us are getting any younger.:) I also decided - the new kitchen looks great!
I think it was an excellent start to the season! I found myself laughing in the first few minutes with Max and Fran's view of what happened and both Niles and Val's comment, "I only hope that happens to me someday" Loved the kutchina scene with Niles and CC and at the end with Fran revealing her oyster outfit to Max "Miss Very Fine" I can't wait 'til next week!
Why did we have to wait six long months for this episode? I tape every episode and this one I couldn't concentrate on. I expected more. The end was great with Fran and Max and with Sylvia interrupting. Niles and the sympathy act on the rest of the family was also great. I think having Roseanne in this episode really killed it. I'm looking forward to the next few months when things really start to heat up between Fran and Max!
I though it was okay, but I really hate Sylvia! She spoils the show really badly. She shouldn't be in it so often. Otherwise pretty darn good!

Our responses (38) gave the episode a 8.7 overall, a 9.2 for the comedy, and a 7.7 for romance. Some comments received were:
Loved the episode, Elton John was great! Loved the scene where Fran stole Yetta's clothes and boy, C.C. really got Niles back by hiring that kid. This season is going great.
Oh my, oh my!! I think this one will go down on my favorite lists!! A scream!! No complaints on any level. Thank you, Frank!!
Loved this ep! Much better than last week. Niles & C.C. were great. Niles is going to play this heart attack for everything it's worth. I love Fran & Max , but the Niles-C.C. thing is too good to overlook.
It was not very romantic, but it was hysterically funny. I laughed so hard I cried. Elton John and his partner David made the show spectacular. Elton did a fantastic job. The show was fabulous it made you forget there was little to no romance in the episode at all.
What an episode!! Fran and Max are sooooo sweet together. She said that she loved him, finally! Elton John was perfect, and was David Furnish! Way to go! Keep it up!
OK, I can say this episode was scream - literally. I LOLed throughout the ep., but I can't help notice that now that Fran and Max are a "couple," the edge to their relationship has diminished and is less interesting. Already. The focus of interest for me shifted (objectively, I swear) to Niles and CC, whose relationship is still a mystery and still an absolute scream. They keep us guessing! I think this is one of my favorites for showing their bizarre on-and-off "romance." I was laughing uncontrollably as CC searched for "Sidney" at the screening and when she paid off the little bugger at the house. :-D And what about Niles' "He doesn't like you!" Daniel was in top form tonight. In spite of the first date theme, I thought CC and Niles stole the show.
Fran was again the consummate comedienne - I thought I'd plotz off the couch when she wiped her face with the lettuce!
Everyone was in top notch form. My only concern is with Max/Fran as a couple - I just hope it doesn't get boring. Two for two! May the season continue to be this good :-)
YES!!! Maxwell is definetly moving forward, truth be told, I never thought he'd make this much progress. But he did! And now it's like in our stories.... Hmmm.. Strange...
Niles and CC absolutely stole the show this week. I loved how CC freaked Niles out with little Sydney. Those two are the best part of the show for me.
I think this is the funniest nanny episode in recent memory!!!! It was hilarious!!!
I was VERY pleasantly surprised on this one. If they're all this funny this season, we'll be in good shape! Fran was hysterical, Yetta was hysterical, Niles and C.C. were impossibly funny and Maxwell was as adorable as always and very sweet and tender towards Fran. (Quite a change from cold and wishy-washy. Let's hope the wind doesn't blow back in that direction!)
Favorite lines were mostly from Niles--"He doesn't like you!!!" and calling C.C. a "big baboon" and C.C.'s "There are FOUR of them?" I laugh just thinking about it. And of course Yetta and her gold pants: "I thought I was being so sexy with this high slit skirt!"
More, more, more please. I loved the gentleness that surrounds the Max/Fran relationship now. Even when he's furious with her, you know he still loves her. The tension being gone from that leaves room for the silliness and that's so much better than the fighting from last season.
A solid piece of true "Nannyism!" Fran was a scream in her disguise! Poor Max! & Niles & CC were hysterical! Funny & romantic with out being overly trashy! Lucy would be proud!
A superb episode...of course, written partially by Frank...who has a real handle on these characters. Also, excellent casting..eg look at Fran Fine in Yetta's garb...could really be her grandmother!
Great episode one of the funniest I have seen! Glad to see Fran admit that she loves Max. Enjoyed the Niles and CC Sidney joke especially how she paid the kid to pose as Sidney. Wonder what is going to happen between these two.
Excellent episode. Especially loved the additional time that they filmed this episode with Niles and CC. I for one, can't wait until they finally start to get involved. PLEASE MAKE IT SOON!
This episode was a definite improvement from last week. When Fran said that she loved Maxwell, I was so excited! Did you notice that she called him Maxwell at dinner?! I'm glad that they are moving forewards, but I hope that there is still humor and spice in the relationship- I don't like all of that gushy stuff. Can't wait for next week!
I liked this episode, because it was LOL funny, and because Maxwell doesn't seem quite so afraid of commitment now. I also loved the Niles/CC story. They still love to hate each other! Let's hope that they keep up the good work!
Has anyone else noticed how this was SO NOT MAXWELL'S FAULT???? Loved the ep; but wondering whether Fran's going to ruin it this season. Last year, it was his fault. This year? They're turning to Fran.
(Just to make it clear: Fran said she loved Max to Him, not Max! Okay? Doesn't count; I'm still waiting. Unimpressed.)
Niles and CC were faboo! Those two were LOL in this ep. They fight just so well. Max & Fran got a little too silly, but at least Max is showing some signs of intelligence. Props on how he handled Sylvia AND Niles... :-D He's really starting to shape up.
Elton John was the best!!
I thought the episode was witty and full of fun!! After all, isn't that what "The Nanny" is all about? It was nice to see each member of the cast have thier spotlight with the humor -- even the kids were included. As for the romance, I like the way the writers are handling both Max/Fran and CC/Niles. I believe that if they move too quickly with the romance angle, the audience will get bored. We can't forget, especially with Fran and Maxwell, that they know nothing about each other in the form of dating and relationships. This "getting to know each other" angle could be the best thing for them. Just think of all the fun situations we could find them in, like Valentine's Day, Christmas and whatever else comes up throughout the season. Overall, I loved the comedy and acting in this episode. I think it is one of the gems of the entire 5 seasons.
I loved Niles's telling C.C. bluntly that Mr. Sheffield DIDNT LIKE HER!!! :0)
Max asking Fran out was really cute. The physical comedy was fantastic. I thought Fran as Yetta would not be that funny, but I was ROTFL... IT WAS HILARIOUS!! Max's reactions were priceless.
Just enough romance to "tease" us, they definitely have the hots, but they are just showing us enough to keep it interesting. How did the date end??
Sylvia was great and added to the comedy...
Two thumbs up!! I hope the rest of the season is this great!!
It's heart-warming to see that Fran finally admits to us in words that she loves Maxwell.
Great episode, really funny. Loved the scene in the ladies room with "Glen Close". The beaded gown Fran wore to the premiere was stunning! Oh, and by the way, I think the new kitchen looks beautiful. Love the new color.
I liked this one - it had some really funny moments - "Elton's tuckus", jumping on the bed, and my favorite "BECAUSE HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU!" The romance wasn't there too much, but there were a few moments. Hopefully, it'll stay realistic, and not get too cartoony, 'cuz they're doing a FINE job!!
This is CLASSIC NANNY!! This was so funny it had me rolling on the floor laughing. Charles just gets better looking every ep., Elton John was great. Fran dressed as Yetta was such a hoot. That was one of the best scenes. Oy this whole show was great. Need I say more. Great ep.
Is C.C. gaining weight or is it just me? [webmasters note: It isn't you--Lauren Lane is expecting. So yes, she is gaining weight, but she's allowed!]

Our responses (10) gave the episode a 8.1 overall, a 8.3 for the comedy, and a 8.1 for romance. Some comments received were:
This was a great episode!!! It had all the elements of a great episode.. the Niles/CC thing was hysterical and Fran's disguise as Yetta was also really funny. Sylvia tormenting Ms. Close was also really good! I really did enjoy this one, much more than 'The Morning After'. I can't wait until the next week!
Better than last week! Elton was good, Niles and CC were great! Wonderful to see that the Fran/Max relationship is finally moving forward; it's about time! Some really funny moments between Niles and CC! I really enjoyed this show - I hope it keeps up!
This episode was so much better than the season premiere. I love the way Fran and Max's relationship seems to be developing. Niles and CC are better than ever.
This ep was EXCELLENT!! I liked it better than TMA , not because that was bad, but because this was good. Although I'm more of a Max/Fran fan, I thought the comedy between Niles and C.C. was the best I have ever seen it this week. I was laughing so hard!! I loved the Sydney joke and C.C. being fooled the whole time only to outwit Niles in the end. I loved the first scene the best - I rewound the 'I missed you' bit about 10 times! But AGAIN Sylvia had to interrupt! This I don't get: since she's so keen to see them together, why does she keep them from trying to?!?! Like when she didn't leave the room until Max told her about the Hershey's Kisses, the "Which couch?!", AND the drapes thing from last week. A bit contradictory really! :) But I loved the Fran/Max bits, I thought they looked really good together, I thought Elton did a good job, and overall the episode was fantastic!! :) I can't wait for next week's!!
I really liked this one! Very funny, very Lucille Ball. I loved the Niles/CC verbal fencing - LOL! And Fran's "I really love this guy" - wow. However, knowing what was going to happen really spoiled a lot of it for me.
This is more like 'The Nanny' we are used to. The comedy between Niles and CC was fantastic. I loved it how Niles made up Sydney and CC set him up by bribing the little boy and his mother. Fran was great dressed up as Yetta and Elton John was great as well. Also the romance between Fran and Maxwell is what we want and more of it.
This would have to be one of the funniest Nanny episodes in the longest time! It is so good to see the all out physical comedy (eg. Fran/Yetta!) which made me the diehard fan in the first place! All the elements were there in this one, and it was good to see that the show didn't rely upon the Maxwell and Fran relationship to keep the story flowing. Just good, solid, FUNNY, Nanny comedy!

After winning a radio contest, Brighton gets the chance to be in the new Brian Setzer Orchestra video and have it filmed at the Sheffield house. With rock star Brian Setzer (The Stray Cats) comes his record company's vice president of promotion, Bobbi Flekman (Fran Drescher recreating her character from the feature film Spinal Tap). It's bad enough that Bobbi and her assistant, Clotilde (guest star Lisa Loeb), take over the house, but Fran and C.C. are really upset when Maxwell, who is looking for a rock star for his next Broadway vehicle, is taken with Bobbie. Written by: Diane Wilk. Brian Setzer as himself. Chloe: Lisa Loeb, Director: Nicolas Greene, Bandmember: Kevin Norton |
Our responses (27) gave the episode a 6.8 overall, a 6.9 for the comedy, and a 6.1 for romance. Some comments received were:
I really didn't like this show as much as I liked the other episodes this year. It really wasn't as fun.
The ep. was a so-so in my list. But Fran was great as Bobbi, she should dress like her all the time! But what happened with them? They left us all hanging in the air. They should've used another tag scene. I hope we see what happened in next week's...
All I can say is -- BLECHH! The only redeaming facet of this ep. was Fran's performance in the duel role and the technical director for making it seem so real. I hated just about everyone else, inlcluding Max. (Remember, he kissed her as Bobbi *before* he saw the Lohmmann's tag) And where was the plot in the second half? Chucked in favor of a music video, and a second-rate one at that. I wanted to smack Niles. The only good point was the one CC made about how Bobbi was a combination of the two women Max cared about - she and Fran. I never thought of that and it made good sense that he might be attracted to someone who had a balance of their qualities. Other than that, there was not one LOL moment, Sylvia was cringe-worthy, and the story never did get resolved. Ugh! Odd how one week can give us diamonds and the next coal. This ranks right "up" there with No Muse is Good Muse as most useless eps. in Nanny history. (Gee, can ya tell I didn't like it?)
I really enjoyed it!!!
I enjoyed this weeks show, three for three in my book! At first, I was a little startled at the 'mourning period', I had not thought that there would be reprecussions from the Elton "Yoo-hoo", but it makes perfect sense. I was also a little surprised at the C.C. eating jokes, but I guess that will make good 'cover' as the season progresses. Most impressive was the job Fran Drescher did highlighting the differences between Fran Fine, Bobbi Fleckman, and Fran Fine impersonating Bobbi Fleckman. All three characters had differences, and it was easy to know "who" was onscreen at any given moment. The best line of the night was Fran as Bobbi's "Wha--t" as she remembered how Bobbi would speak! I LOVED the scene in the office, and I can forgive Max kissing who he thought was Bobbi because it can be argued that he instinctively knew it was Fran, even before he found the tag. The kiss on the couch with THAT Bobbi didn't affect him in the same way. Now, just like the Elton episode, Fran has screwed up Max's professional life again, and she still will have to redeem herself in his eyes for locking Bobbi in the bathroom.
An all-around great episode! Loved Fran pretending to be Bobbi & Max's reaction when he discovered it was Fran! Also Sylvia's advice to "step up to the man buffet & grab your piece!" LOL! She'd sure have his undivided attention! Brian Setzer & his orchestra were fantastic! They are definately "cookin with gas" this season!
I thought this episode was so-so. After last week it was a real downer. Fran was great in the dual role but that was about it. I'd like to see her a little more secure with herself. Max seemed perfectly content to let her suffer over the Elton thing. Almost to the point of coldhearted. The season ender was a great way of making them both think how unpredictable life can be but evidently it's going to have to hit closer to home for Max to see the light.(could be a great fan fiction story- hint hint)
I liked this episode. As it was said on the board, Fran and Max are behaving like a real couple now. They have their ups and downs. It looks, to me, as though they are back up with that last scene. Max knew it was Fran all along, but played that joke on her to show that there was nothing go on between him and Bobbi. Niles and CC were a riot, as always!! So was Sylvia! I loved the 'man buffet' thing! Well, anyway, I thought that it was a cute episode! Keep it up!
This episode was great! I can't believe Max is rejecting Fran because of their first date-how harsh! Oh well, back to running in circles.
I loved the part when Max realizes that "Bobbi" is actually "Miss Fine". They need to make it to the bedroom one of these days. It has been long enough. Let's get this romance on a roll!
GREAT episode! I loved the fact that C.C. tried to break Max and Bobbi up with Fran of all people. I also like the character of Bobbi Fleckman, I think that they should bring her back. As always Charlie was gorgeous, and oh how he turned the tables on Fran. It's nice to see the goofyness from the frist two seasons returning. Niles trying to horn in on the video was a riot. I would have liked to have seen more of the kids though. All in all I think the season's off to a great start. ;)
It rocked! Everyone did a great job. Fran was fab as Bobbi! And that thing with Bobbi and C.C.'s first meeting in the office faboo. Then Fran and C.C. seeing Max kiss Bobbi and crying on each other's shoulders, LOL! I also love the line:
Chloe: Did you ever have to run out in the middle of the night to buy tampons?
Niles: No!
Chloe: Then, shut up!
That was so cool! But it did not come close to the scene in the office with Max and Fran. It has to be true love when Max could on an unconsious level know it was Fran even when consiously he thought it was Bobbi. That's romance!!!! Then to see Max take complete advantage of the finding of the tag to have some fun.
Thank you, Max, you have joined the game!!!!!!!!!
I was so happy to see him play along with her and out smart her in the end. I would how ever have liked it, if Max had been a little nicer concerning Fran's jealiousy. But there still hope because next week's ep has Fran getting kidnapped, how worried will Max get?
I can't say as I cared for this one very much. It was not very funny.
Fran was great as Bobbi, as in the original Spinal Tap. She played it off great!!
Her and Max in turmoil made the show less entertaining, however, seeing Max with Fran/Bobbi/Fran made us keep hoping. Asking for marriage seemed a little mean, in light of their current relationship.
Gee, this is how Max acts with just a "close friend" and he treats Fran like he does?? go figure??
Music was great, but almost too intrusive.
CC is showing more..They should get her and Niles to end up together and then UTILIZE her pregnancy for what could be some great comedy between them....
Still a good show, but they need to work on keeping the plot lines tight and flowing smoothly, like in the first two eps, which are now my favorites!!
GREAT SHOW!
I liked the ep because of Fran's dual role, but the mixed romantic messages from Max were wierd.
I just love the show.
I didn't like this episode at all. The kisses with Max and Bobbi were terrible. If Fran had any self respect she would have left after that. I hate what they're doing to poor CC too. She was pretty much over Max and now they have her chasing him again? I HATED that. Plus, why are they trying to make CC so old? She's supposed to be in her forties and they've been making her seem to be in her fifties for the last two episodes. I just hope that next week is better.

Our responses (11) gave the episode a 6.3 overall, a 6.7 for the comedy, and a 5.5 for romance. Some comments received were:
I really enjoyed this episode! I absolutely LOVE the movie Spinal Tap, it's one of my favourite movies, and Bobbi Flekman is probably Fran's BEST ever movie role! I laughed a LOT at this week's episode. The Maggie and Brighton thing was funny.. and I rewound CC's: "I travel a lot, sometimes I work here.. and sometimes I work.. here" about 40 times! If the episodes continue to be as funny as this one is, then I think we've got a winner of a season on our hands!
This show didn't really grab me. I personally didn't think it was anywhere as good as the previous episodes in this series. Some funny moments. Nice to finally see the 'kids' - Benjamin Salisbury is almost as tall as Charles now! Oh well. At least this is better than watching the repeats! Hoping that the next ep is better!
Thought it was a little unbeliveable, clever though, thought the slut comment by CC was a little uncalled for.
This was a pretty cool ep, but it was soo frustrating when Max was stringing Fran along in his office. Won't those two hurry up and get together already?
Hmmm.... not bad, not bad at all. I agree that the slut comment was uncalled for, as was the stuff about CC at Sarah's wedding. All in all, the episode was quite funny, and I actually loved Brian Setzer! I've never heard of him before and expected him to be some godawful rock star. Also, where are the kids?! HELLO! I mean, this IS "the nanny". Overall, quite pleasing.
I thought that overall this was a good ep, but I must admit I liked 'First Date' better. I didn't like Max torturing her over losing Elton John at all - I mean, from my point of view, he's supposed to be in love with her, but he really acts like he couldn't care less sometimes. Really, if you loved someone, but they did something to upset you, of course you would be a bit disappointed in them, but you wouldn't be as malicious as I think Max was with dealing with the situation - wouldn't you be afraid that they'd take it to heart and leave?! Maybe that's just the way I see things personally. I also think 'First Date' was more Nanny-esque, it was typical Nanny, whereas this one just...wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a *bad* ep, I found some bits quite funny, but I didn't like the way he treated Fran in the last scene :( Okay, so she shouldn't have dressed up as Bobbie Flekman, but she only did it so *she* could be with Max...surely he would have realized that?! And, although this is very hypothetical, just say she got away when she needed to 'go to your nanny, she needs me'?! She would have been really upset!! I don't know, it was a good episode, but I keep thinking that they get engaged on episode 5.15...but this was the way things were in 5.3...how could their relationship go from this (which I view as pretty negative) to something as positive as getting engaged realistically within such a short space of time?!?!
I liked this episode because of the romance and because it was so funny.
I'm sorry fellow Nanny fans, but I personally hated this episode. All the jokes were recycled, the slut comment was pretty crude, Maxwell was kissing Bobbie before he knew it was Fran and the majority of the show was taken up with bad close-ups of Brian Setzer and his awful band. The only saving grace was Niles and the hilarious bikini gags, but even that didn't tip the scales. I hate to say it, because love the Nanny so much, but this could rate as one of the worst episodes ever. *sigh*
